Product Features: Run In-Game Applications

Killer™ NIC offers a variety of applications that run directly on the card's NPU instead of your CPU. Offloading applications from the PC to the Killer™ NIC is another way to allow the CPU to stay focused on making sure the game and your PC run at peak performance. The following applications are available:

Hardware Firewall (Beta)
A software firewall is one of the first programs you disable to maximize gaming performance. That’s because software firewalls take up valuable CPU resources. Killer™ NIC gives you security from intruders with a hardware Firewall that runs entirely on the NPU. This means zero impact to your gaming performance. Since the Killer™ NIC firewall runs entirely inside the Killer NPU, malicious attacks are stopped before they can hit your PC's bus.  Killer’s Firewall is based on the popular and proven Open Source iptables firewall for Linux, with an added Windows®-based user interface.

Bit Torrent (Beta)
Killer’s Bit Torrent client uses Killer’s NPU to download, store and share files P2P while using zero CPU resources. With Killer’s game packet prioritization you can even download while you game. Store your downloads on a drive attached directly to Killer’s USB 2.0 port and the files will never touch your system. You can download gigabytes of files with zero impact to your game.

Game Patcher (Beta)
Use the Killer™ NIC to automatically keep your games patched and ready to play. The Game Patcher client does the work for you via the Killer™ NIC's onboard processor and your USB storage. The Patcher stays up to date on the latest patches available, and automatically downloads them to your PC.
