Sr. Linux Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Bigfoot Networks is looking to hire an experienced Linux Firmware Developer with Linux Kernel Driver Development Skills and Strong C programming skills.  This person will be in charge of developing Embedded Linux Kernel drivers for a network processor (TCP/IP Offload Engine NIC).  This person will also aid in the development of Embedded Linux User applications (written in C) for added ‘gaming specific’ functionality of the TOE NIC.

The ideal candidate will have experience programming in C, network & network sockets programming, embedded Linux Tool-chains, and know the Freescale/PowerPC Architecture including DMA Engines and Network Devices & Kernel Sockets.  In addition the ideal candidate should have a passion or interest in video games or high-performance PC technology and willing to learn/do what it takes to develop amazing new technology products targeted at the consumer gaming and game development world.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new Embedded Linux Drivers for Host system interface of a High-Performance TCP/IP Offload Network Card.
  • Develop specialized host system interfaces for proprietary API for ‘advanced feature offload’ (such as Encryption support, compression support, etc.).
  • Develop applications to reside in embedded Linux environment and provided new functionality to Network Cards (Example: Bittorrent capability)… includes interfacing software for host system.
  • Be member of Architecture team and identify and develop new technologies, products, and opportunities.
  • Write and assist the writing of patents relating to the field of core technology.
  • Work with customers (Game companies and others) in the use and deployment of TCP/IP Offload Network Cards with additional special functionality for gaming purposes.

Sr. Software Engineer

Job Description

Bigfoot Networks is looking to hire an experienced programmer with networking and network programming experience.  This person will be in charge of projects involving C++ and C, as well as several scripting languages (Perl, Python, csh, etc.).  These projects will be integral to the development of next generation video game networking technology.  You will get to architect and develop core Network Protocol and Software Technology that many games will use, and work with many different game developers to implement the networking architecture in many popular hit Game Titles.  Other networking applications (beyond gaming) will also be developed using the network protocol and core API systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience programming in C++ and C, network & network sockets programming, multithreaded programming, multiprocessor programming, and kernel level programming (Windows and/or Linux).  In addition the ideal candidate will have a passion or interest in video games and technology and willing to learn or know video game networking idiosyncrasies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test software relating to a core network protocol API for video and other interactive applications.
  • Assist in the develop and test of a hardware/software interfacing (device drivers) for a network device to offload said network protocol API.

Sr. Windows Application Developer

Job Description:

Bigfoot Networks is looking to hire an experienced programmer and application developer with deep knowledge in Windows GUI programming.  Candidate will be responsible for development of innovative small networking applications that allow users to test, interact, and experience networking in whole new ways.  Many applications will be developed using a methodology of rapid development of applications followed by a continuous enhancement process with internal, external, and beta testing.

The ideal candidate will have experience programming in C#, C++, .net and MFC.  Candidate should have experience developing simple installers using standard tools for Windows Operating systems (across multiple versions).  Candidate should also understand the basics of networking & be able to do network sockets programming, multithreaded programming, and multiprocessor programming.  Ability to rapidly develop a simple GUI application that connects to powerful programming libraries is a must.  In addition the ideal candidate will have a passion or interest in video games and/or networking technologies. 

Responsibilities:

Channel Marketing Manager

Job Description

This is a high-impact position that will leverage your channel marketing experience to build brand preference and aggressively grow revenue. You will provide creative leadership and project management for online and offline demand generation programs encompassing OEM, E-tail, Retail, Distribution, International and other industry partners. Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute marketing campaigns utilizing internet marketing, direct marketing, PR, affiliate programs, trade shows and advertising.

Manager, Channel Sales            

Job Description

Bigfoot Networks is looking to hire a channel sales manager to drive and develop relationships with Distribution, E-tail, Retail, System Integrator, and OEM channels.  This person will focus on identifying, negotiating, and growing the relevant channels.   The person should possess the ability to quickly reach and develop relationships with key decision makers within the Customer’s organization.   Experience in closing and managing accounts is required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of how each channel operates, how to implement marketing programs, and how to measure the effectiveness of different programs.  Organizational skills, the ability to manage resources, and past experience in selling technology products will be critical.  Must be able to thrive in fast-paced environment; must work well with senior management. Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and negotiate reseller relationships with Distribution, E-tail, Retail, System Integrator, and OEM channels.

Hardware & Script Test Engineer

Job Description:
Bigfoot Networks is looking to hire an experienced HW&SW Test Engineer to develop and execute test plans for new products being manufactured, and also those in development. 

Some of these products are hardware designs such as the Killer NIC, and other of these products are software designs such as the Killer NIC Firewall Application.  Test plans, test scripts (sh, perl, python, etc.) and doing the actual testing is the key elements of this job.  This is common for either HW or SW products.  Familiarity with Hardware & Debugging/Troubleshooting HW is important, since the HW Test Scripts are used by the Contract Manufacturer (CM) to determine root cause of any failing HW, and what to fix.

The Test Engineer will also be responsible for validating incoming bug reports, reproducing them in our Lab, and coordinating with development engineers to try to root cause and fix.  Beta tests and results as well as bug database tracking and performance testing and monitoring are also part of this job.

The ideal candidate is very analytical, can work with large groups of engineers, and can write bug reports effectively.  A perfect candidate understands the need for process in filing and managing bug databases, and is technical enough to understand complex hardware/software issues.  Knowledge and ability in writing Test Scripts in Linux (such as SH, Perl, and Python) is required.  Experience with hardware debug is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Write Test Scripts in Linux SH, Perl, and Python for Manufacturing Test and Internal Test, as well as Software Test Cases.
  • Work with HW Engineering to make MFG Scripts determine root cause of failure at Functional Test.
  • Analyze, categorize, reproduce, and file incoming ‘problems’ into ‘reproducible bugs’ into a database system.
  • Develop and implement consistent performance benchmarking and statistical analysis across product versions and between products (such as Killer NIC vs. other Network Cards).
  • Assist in Beta testing (customer facing) test programs, feedback collection and tracking, and analysis of results.
  • Lead the Quality Testing team in executing new product test plans.
  • Work with engineers to reproduce, root-cause, and fix or work-around all bugs.
  • Manage Bug database, generate reports and collect statistical bug information.
